About the tour

Explore Rome's secret island, Ponza, on a day trip departing from central Rome. Avoid crowded, lacklustre beaches near Rome and enjoy crystal-clear waters 30 nautical miles away in Ponza.

The ferry to Ponza, costing 60 euros (not included, payable at check-in), departs from Anzio, offering a 1.5-hour ride. Upon arrival in Ponza, take a brief break for breakfast and board an excursion boat for an exhilirating 5-hour circumnavigation of Ponza. Discover hidden coves, gravity-defying rock formations, and blue grottoes while your expert tour leader translates the Italian commentary. Make 4-5 stops for swimming and snorkeling, and enjoy a pasta lunch freshly prepared by the captain and served on board, picnic style.

The boat excursion ends at 4:00 PM, providing an hour of free time in Ponza's lively port to enjoy an ice cream or a spritz, or to shop. Board the return ferry to Anzio, reaching central Rome just before 9:00 PM. This organized tour handles logistics, ensuring a worry-free experience.

Opt for the "with snorkel" option to receive your own set of gear, or choose a private experience with hotel pick-up, a guide, skipper, and a private boat. For the private excursion, lunch is not included but can be purchased in the port and brought on board or you can schedule a lunch stop at a restaurant. Ferry tickets for the private experience cost an additional 60 euros (paid at check-in).

Starting Point

We meet front of Caffè Cestia in Piazza di Porta San Paolo 1. Please note that above the bar the sign says “BAR PIRAMIDE” and not Caffè Cestia. The caffè is located to the left of OTTICA PIRAMIDE. Look for our representative wearing the color bright green and carrying a flag with the EcoArt logo.The cafè is open in the early mornings. The closest metro stop is the Line B - Piramide station.

Beautiful day on the boat

Ponza Island was beautiful The boat ride around it was great Our captain was practically driving us into the caves when he could The swim breaks were so refreshing in the water as well with the crystal clear water

Absolutely go Our tour guide was amazing and very friendly It was so fun being on the boat swimming in the ocean and having some time to get gelato in ponza Everything was so beautiful and well planned You wont regret spending the money at all

Worth it

We had a great experience and our tour guide Gianluca was amazing He met with us before and after the trip individually to talk with us about the day and give recommendations for the rest of our trip As for the day swimming was great and the views were spectacular Only note is that the day does last about 14 hours with only one meal provided Bring water and snacks

Great excursion

This was a great addition to our Rome trip Luca was a great tour guide and the boat captian was fantastic too The boat was clean and well maintained Ponza Island is beautiful and closer than going to Capri or Amalfi if you are tight on time
