About the tour

Explore Rome's secret island, Ponza, on a day trip departing from central Rome. Avoid crowded, lacklustre beaches near Rome and enjoy crystal-clear waters 30 nautical miles away in Ponza.

The ferry to Ponza, costing 60 euros (not included, payable at check-in), departs from Anzio, offering a 1.5-hour ride. Upon arrival in Ponza, take a brief break for breakfast and board an excursion boat for an exhilirating 5-hour circumnavigation of Ponza. Discover hidden coves, gravity-defying rock formations, and blue grottoes while your expert tour leader translates the Italian commentary. Make 4-5 stops for swimming and snorkeling, and enjoy a pasta lunch freshly prepared by the captain and served on board, picnic style.

The boat excursion ends at 4:00 PM, providing an hour of free time in Ponza's lively port to enjoy an ice cream or a spritz, or to shop. Board the return ferry to Anzio, reaching central Rome just before 9:00 PM. This organized tour handles logistics, ensuring a worry-free experience.

Opt for the "with snorkel" option to receive your own set of gear, or choose a private experience with hotel pick-up, a guide, skipper, and a private boat. For the private excursion, lunch is not included but can be purchased in the port and brought on board or you can schedule a lunch stop at a restaurant. Ferry tickets for the private experience cost an additional 60 euros (paid at check-in).

Beautiful day on the boat

Ponza Island was beautiful The boat ride around it was great Our captain was practically driving us into the caves when he could The swim breaks were so refreshing in the water as well with the crystal clear water

Starting Point

We meet front of Caffè Cestia in Piazza di Porta San Paolo 1. Please note that above the bar the sign says “BAR PIRAMIDE” and not Caffè Cestia. The caffè is located to the left of OTTICA PIRAMIDE. Look for our representative wearing the color bright green and carrying a flag with the EcoArt logo.The cafè is open in the early mornings. The closest metro stop is the Line B - Piramide station.

Ponza Island

Took an all day excursion to Ponza from Rome. Kimberly our tour guide was awesome. The trip is a long day but well worth it. Kimberly was very personable and provided great info all day giving us great insights to the culture the location and the history. The day was spent circumnavigating the island and stopping at several swimming locations. The highlight involved setting through grottos filled with crystal clear blue waters. There's time at the end to unwind with a cocktail and take in the sights. A most beautiful place and well worth the day.

Ponza Tour was the highligt of our trip

We loved this tour! A day spent boating around a spectacularly beautiful island, with blue skies and even bluer waters. It was such a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Kim was fantastic, so knowledgeable, passionate about her beautiful place, helpful and brought humour to the trip. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone who has a love for adventure and the water. Was fab to just jump of the boat and swim onto many undisturbed beaches. A complete treat.

The Best Day in Italy :)

The best memories from Italy. I love architecture of Rome but after few days in hot city you need to go to Ponza. Especially with this tour. Everything organized very well, great guide (talks a lot :) , snorkeling and views in Ponza the best. Don't forget towels and snorkeling equipment - as renting is too expensive. Still I would recommend this in 100%

Ponza: Pure Relaxation and Unique Geology

I'm not able to put into words how beautifully unique each turn of this uniquely beautiful island is to see. Our guide, Kimberly, made it even better pointing out landmarks, historical locations, and the intricacies of the varied volcanic rocks that make up Ponza island. Beyond the views, we stopped several times for 30 minutes to swim in the clear waters. You can snorkel or hang out with a noodle as a floaty. The mariner style pasta for lunch was a new, unique experience as well. We picked up some lemonchello, fruit, cheese and crackers form the local market. This was our last day in Rome and it was by far the best decision we made. Pure relaxation and enjoyment before heading home to reality. A trip everyone should go on!

Ponza island day tour

We did the Ponza island day tour with Kimberly as our guide, it was simply amazing. She knew just about everything about the island and told it in a fun and interesting way. I loved the snorkelling and the great atmosphere. Definitely a must do!!!
