About the tour
Escape the crowded beaches near Rome and experience the wild beauty of Ponza and the Pontine Islands, a breathtaking archipelago 30 nautical miles off the coast. This small group experience (15 people or fewer on the boat) offers a relaxed, personal way to explore the island’s stunning coastline by sea.
Your day begins in central Rome with transport to Anzio by bus (please note: transport to and from the island may be shared with a larger group). From Anzio, take a 1.5-hour ferry to Ponza (ferry ticket: €60 per person, not included, payable at check-in).
Upon arrival, enjoy a short break before boarding a boat for a 5-hour cruise around the islands. With your English-speaking tour leader providing insight, discover hidden coves, dramatic cliffs, sea grottoes, and stop 4–5 times to swim and snorkel in pristine waters.
During the cruise, enjoy a fresh, elaborate lunch served onboard, prepared by the captain: friselle with tomatoes, a fish-based pasta, dessert, fresh fruit, water, regional wine, and coffee—all enjoyed with sea views and great company.
After docking at around 4:00 PM, you’ll have free time in Ponza’s vibrant port to explore, grab a spritz, or enjoy a gelato. Return by ferry and bus to central Rome by approximately 9:00 PM—with all logistics smoothly handled.
Optional upgrade: Rent a professional snorkel set (mask and snorkel) to make the most of each swim stop.
