About the tour

Meet an English-speaking Ponza guide for the day in the main port of Ponza for a 10:30 AM start before boarding your boat excursion for the day.

This Ponza Island boat excursion circumnavigates all 42 beautiful miles of coastline, weather and sea conditions permitting. You'll come across stunning volcanic rock formations, sea caves, blue grottos, hidden coves, and rocky beaches. 

Along the way, your Ponza guide will share fascinating stories about the long history of the island, including evidence of neanderthals inhabiting the area. The Roman's left their mark here as well, leaving ruins of villas, aqueducts and even a series of decorated sea grottos where they farmed fish.

You'll have the opportunity to admire wonderful places such as the Pilate's Caves up to Chiaia di Luna, Capo Bianco, Lucia Rosa, Cala Feola and many other stunning little coves! 

The boat excursion will stop at 4 to 5 locations around the island where you can swim and snorkel directly off the boat for 25-30 minutes. At lunchtime, your boat captain will prepare a fresh, hot pasta lunch which will be served with wine, drinks, water, fruit, snacks and espresso.  Additionally, you'll have free drinks during the excursion!

At 5:00 PM the boat excursion will come to an end, returning to the starting point, the main port of Ponza.

The tour takes place every Tuesday and Thursday.

In front of the Pro Loco of Ponza, Via Molo Musco 2, 04027 Ponza (LT), which is the tourist office of Ponza.

Ending Point

Departure at 11:00 for the island boat tour, with stops for swimming.

17:00 Return to the port of Ponza

The tour takes place every Tuesday and Thursday.

  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.
  • The meeting time is strictly at 10:30 AM and the tour cannot wait for late arrivals.
    Last-minute cancellations are possible due to sea and weather conditions. Please contact the tour operator the day before the scheduled excursion to confirm that it will take place as planned.
  • If you have any special dietary restrictions or allergies, please note that no alternatives are provided, and you will need to bring your own lunch.
  • Please bring a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen.
    Bring your own snorkeling equipment if you plan to snorkel (not mandatory).
    It is strongly recommended that participants be reasonably confident swimmers to fully enjoy this tour.
  • If you are traveling with small children, you must provide flotation devices if required.
    All minors under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
    If you are traveling with a young child (0–12 years), please inform the staff at the time of booking so they can offer you a better service.
  • We strongly recommend bringing sunscreen.
  • Due to the nature of this tour, last-minute cancellations caused by traffic, strikes, adverse weather conditions, and other force majeure events are not uncommon. Please call +39 345 947 3454 the day before departure to confirm that the tour will operate as scheduled. In case of cancellations before departure, you will be offered a free date change or a full refund. In rare cases, it may not be possible to notify cancellations in advance. If cancellations occur after the tour has started, the itinerary, locations, and timing may be modified as needed to provide an alternative of equal value. In such cases, participants may not be entitled to any refund.

Group tours can be canceled up to 24 hours before departure to receive a full refund. Private tours require at least 5 days’ notice before departure to receive a full refund.

Ponza is an incredible island and we had a wonderful time swimming in different grottos with blue waters Professional and kind staff Definitely recommend them Grazie for the wonderful day

A wonderful day around Ponza

An amazing boat trip with friendly guide and amazing captain who could take the boat in most smallest parts of the rocks The served a nice lunch and tasty wine water and coffee One of the best stops was at a cave where we could swim through while the captain was waiting at the other side

Topquality tour

Wow what a spectacular experience It was our first time visiting Ponza though we are seasoned experts on Italy and we were absolutely enchanted by this highquality tour Valerio was such a professional and super personable as well the information he gave was extremely interesting and high value We got glimpses into the history of the island the peculiarities of the landscape and other tidbits on local life Valerio was great at answering questions as well and if he didnt know an answer immediately he took it upon himself to find out and report back Clearly someone who loves his work and is extremely serviceoriented Valerio also swam with us across a grotto which was great because Im not sure I would have had the confidence on my own The boat had a ladder that makes it easy to get in and out of the sea if you arent much of a jumper The lunch served on board was simple but heartwarming and generous in quantity The tour ran on time and we had a nice amount of time at each spot for swimming The sea was calm enough that day no motion sickness but come prepared if you have a propensity for nausea Also dont forget a float device if you need one as the waters are very deep and we do not approach shores with this tour Before the tour the communication with the booking office was above par we got emails leading up to our excursion with clear information on where to meet and the option to communicate dietary restrictions for the lunch A wonderful touch that not many tours have An impeccable experience we will cherish in our memory forever Grazie Valerio and the EcoArt team Kristina venietiamphotography
