About the tour

Explore Rome's secret island, Ponza, on a day trip departing from central Rome. Avoid crowded, lacklustre beaches near Rome and enjoy crystal-clear waters 30 nautical miles away in Ponza.

The ferry to Ponza, costing 60 euros (not included, payable at check-in), departs from Anzio, offering a 1.5-hour ride. Upon arrival in Ponza, take a brief break for breakfast and board an excursion boat for an exhilirating 5-hour circumnavigation of Ponza. Discover hidden coves, gravity-defying rock formations, and blue grottoes while your expert tour leader translates the Italian commentary. Make 4-5 stops for swimming and snorkeling, and enjoy a pasta lunch freshly prepared by the captain and served on board, picnic style.

The boat excursion ends at 4:00 PM, providing an hour of free time in Ponza's lively port to enjoy an ice cream or a spritz, or to shop. Board the return ferry to Anzio, reaching central Rome just before 9:00 PM. This organized tour handles logistics, ensuring a worry-free experience.

Opt for the "with snorkel" option to receive your own mask and snorkel rental for the day.

Very nice intermezzo

It was a very nice trip out of Rome from a dayworth while the long traveltime Island is beautiful and swimming in the clear waters was very nice Perfect day between the busy days in Rome as a tourist Lunch was very simply but plenty of wine available Do mind the extra cost of 60 euro for the ferry

Starting Point

We meet front of Caffè Cestia in Piazza di Porta San Paolo 1. Please note that above the bar the sign says “BAR PIRAMIDE” and not Caffè Cestia. The caffè is located to the left of OTTICA PIRAMIDE. Look for our representative wearing the color bright green and carrying a flag with the EcoArt logo.The cafè is open in the early mornings. The closest metro stop is the Line B - Piramide station.

Would go back to Rome just for this tour

I would go back to Rome just to do this tour again Luca and Mara were amazing guides who made us feel like one big group just out on a fun day The swimming stops are perfect and often and theres plenty of time for swimming The captain as well as his helper were so much fun and even took a group of us to swim through a cave at one of the stops Other reviews say the boat was too packed but we did not feel that way at all We were a group of about 30 but we never felt too tight If you want some sun I recommend the top part of the boat but either way youre bound to have fun whether its swimming sitting or jumping off the front of the ship If Im ever in Rome again Im definitely doing this tour all over again Pasta was also delicious and they made us feel like one big family inviting us water wine and even coffee after lunch So much fun 100 would do again

Awesome Trip

Boat trip was amazing and the Island is beautiful Perfect opportunity to escape from a hot day in Rome and head to the sea Awesome experience I would do it again in a heartbeat

Beautiful

Highly recommend Ponza was breathtaking and the travel wasnt too bad We had just done Pompeii and Positano two days prior and this travel was so much easierthough the ferry was longer than indicatedcloser to two hours actively traveling in the water The views and swimming locations are incredibleGabriele was a great guide

I had the best day it was so beautiful cruising around the islands and stopping to swim We swam through caves saw lots of fish had a beautiful lunch cooked by the captain Our tour guide Mara was excellent at what she does so engaging and fun
