About the tour

Explore Rome's secret island, Ponza, on a day trip departing from central Rome. Avoid crowded, lacklustre beaches near Rome and enjoy crystal-clear waters 30 nautical miles away in Ponza.

The ferry to Ponza, costing 60 euros (not included, payable at check-in), departs from Anzio, offering a 1.5-hour ride. Upon arrival in Ponza, take a brief break for breakfast and board an excursion boat for an exhilirating 5-hour circumnavigation of Ponza. Discover hidden coves, gravity-defying rock formations, and blue grottoes while your expert tour leader translates the Italian commentary. Make 4-5 stops for swimming and snorkeling, and enjoy a pasta lunch freshly prepared by the captain and served on board, picnic style.

The boat excursion ends at 4:00 PM, providing an hour of free time in Ponza's lively port to enjoy an ice cream or a spritz, or to shop. Board the return ferry to Anzio, reaching central Rome just before 9:00 PM. This organized tour handles logistics, ensuring a worry-free experience.

Opt for the "with snorkel" option to receive your own set of gear, or choose a private experience with hotel pick-up, a guide, skipper, and a private boat. For the private excursion, lunch is not included but can be purchased in the port and brought on board or you can schedule a lunch stop at a restaurant. Ferry tickets for the private experience cost an additional 60 euros (paid at check-in).

Starting Point

We meet front of Caffè Cestia in Piazza di Porta San Paolo 1. Please note that above the bar the sign says “BAR PIRAMIDE” and not Caffè Cestia. The caffè is located to the left of OTTICA PIRAMIDE. Look for our representative wearing the color bright green and carrying a flag with the EcoArt logo.The cafè is open in the early mornings. The closest metro stop is the Line B - Piramide station.

A day trip to Isola Ponza

It was a most memorable day trip Ricardo our guide could not be more simpatico and knowledgeable I will never forget how blue the sea was and the dramatic views of the island I love that we have plenty of time to swim and to visit the town All in all a wonderful experience and a well structured excursion

Magnifique excursion

Voyage en ferry 2h jusque lîle de Ponza qui est juste magnifique puis excursion en bateau avec Monsieur Valerio qui est à la fois très professionnel et très gentil le bateau sarrête à différents spots pour quon puisse se baigner dans la mer juste magnifique Leau est dun si beau bleu Baignade dans une grotte naturelle également et repas fournis dans le bateau pasta traditionnelles à la sauce tomate et au thon optionnel Enfin il nous reste une bonne heure pour découvrir lîle en autonomie avant le dernier départ du ferry pour le retour

what a great trip the boat wasnt overcrowded like some boat tours ive done in the past the staff was lovely and the location 1010 Ponza is breathtaking and truly the best way to visit the island is by boat

Gorgeous Ponza

Loved this excursion Great break from sightseeing in Rome with our 16 year old Ponza is just beautiful The water is so beautiful and cliffs along the shore are stunning Lots of opportunities to jump in and swim We were in Europe for 3 weeks and this was one of my favorite days
