About the tour

Explore Rome's secret island, Ponza, on a day trip departing from central Rome. Avoid crowded, lacklustre beaches near Rome and enjoy crystal-clear waters 30 nautical miles away in Ponza.

The ferry to Ponza, costing 60 euros (not included, payable at check-in), departs from Anzio, offering a 1.5-hour ride. Upon arrival in Ponza, take a brief break for breakfast and board an excursion boat for an exhilirating 5-hour circumnavigation of Ponza. Discover hidden coves, gravity-defying rock formations, and blue grottoes while your expert tour leader translates the Italian commentary. Make 4-5 stops for swimming and snorkeling, and enjoy a pasta lunch freshly prepared by the captain and served on board, picnic style.

The boat excursion ends at 4:00 PM, providing an hour of free time in Ponza's lively port to enjoy an ice cream or a spritz, or to shop. Board the return ferry to Anzio, reaching central Rome just before 9:00 PM. This organized tour handles logistics, ensuring a worry-free experience.

Opt for the "with snorkel" option to receive your own set of gear, or choose a private experience with hotel pick-up, a guide, skipper, and a private boat. For the private excursion, lunch is not included but can be purchased in the port and brought on board or you can schedule a lunch stop at a restaurant. Ferry tickets for the private experience cost an additional 60 euros (paid at check-in).

Wonderful experience except for the ferry

The guide Ponza and the boat ride around the island were all 5 stars But the 2 hour ferry ride on rough seas was horrible

Starting Point

We meet front of Caffè Cestia in Piazza di Porta San Paolo 1. Please note that above the bar the sign says “BAR PIRAMIDE” and not Caffè Cestia. The caffè is located to the left of OTTICA PIRAMIDE. Look for our representative wearing the color bright green and carrying a flag with the EcoArt logo.The cafè is open in the early mornings. The closest metro stop is the Line B - Piramide station.

We went July 27th and our guide was amazing

We went July 27th and our guide was amazing He made sure everyone was keeping up and explained everything clearly so we knew what to expect He also told us about Rome and Ponza on the bus and boat The travel was quite long but it was absolutely worth it because we still had plenty of time on the boat We stopped at multiple spots to swim Its even more fun when you have snorkeling gear The food was okay nothing special but thats understandable on a small boat There also was a vegetarian option The sea was rough so we went back because it wasnt safe They really care about safety which is important The island was beautiful so we highly recommend booking Its great to escape the hot city for a while and have a relaxing day

Amazing experience worth the journey

This was the first thing we did when coming to Italy and man did it not disappoint The waters were so clear and beautiful not to mention refreshing since it has been hot The scenery is worth the experience alone but the entire day was a blast Our tour guide Ricardo made sure we all had a great time and always was available to take pictures when asked We stopped to swim like 45 times I think and the food onboard was amazing At first when they said tuna and olives I was like ummmm no thanks but I do like to try new things so boy Im glad I did Didnt even taste the tuna it was so delicious Was able to sit freely on the boat and even hung my legs out as it was going which the water slashing at my feet felt nice haha I took so many pictures and videos this place is remarkable and the tour was great It is a 3 hour trek from time to get there plus the 3 hrs to get back ferry and bus ride each way but it was air conditioned and comfy and had a great time The ferry is 15 hrs long so bring snacks and a charger

One of a kind experience

This was such a singular experience Ive never visited a place so beautiful and so one of a kind Swimming was refreshing although the fact that theres a lot of jellyfish around made me nervous The guide gave us great info of the island throughout the tour and the captain handled that boat amazingly Wouldnt recommend for people that get motion sickness easily but if you can definitely visit Ponza Thanks Ricciardo
