In groups of 20 people or less, our insider guides will lead you straight to the most important areas of the Vatican Museums. This classic itinerary of the must-see sights includes stops in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps.

This tour culminates inside the museums at the Sistine Chapel. Rules are rules, and your guide will be unable to speak while you are inside. However, your insider guide will prepare you for your visit to this word wonder beforehand.

Starting Point

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.

Itineraries vary from day to day and at the discretion of your guide who will adapt your route.

This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps.

Additional information
  • Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
  • Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
  • Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.
  • *THIS VOUCHER IS NOT A TICKET* You must redeem this voucher at the meeting time and location designed on this voucher, with one of our designed Ticket Coordinators.
  • It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
  • Large bags and backpacks must be checked in.
  • To enter the Vatican Museums, shoulders and knees must be covered.
  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.
  • Guests with a certified disability of over 75% are entitled to free entrance to the Vatican and do not require a ticket. For guests who are not self-sufficient, free entry is extended to a companion.  

Tour goes forward rain or shine! Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date. Multiple changes are permitted. To request a cancellation or change of time/date, send an e-mail to info@ecoarttravel.com.

Wonderful Sisitine Chapel and Vatican Museum tour

Oscar was fantastic The tour was not too fast paced which helped my aged parents Oscar explained in details and had a good sense of humor

The organisation through EcoArt was first class and our guide Oscar very knowledgable However brace yourselves for the number of people in the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel they are crowded beyond anything you may have seen in any other museum anywhere There is so much to see and of such quality art sculpture Roman Greek Etruscan Eygptian but you cant stop and look you have to move with the crowd Its Hobsons choice buy your own ticket with the expectation of queuing for hours to get in but then move at the pace you choose or skip the queue ie join a queue of hundreds not thousands with a guide but loose the opportunity to stop and stare

Maria was a great guide

Maria with EcoTours was lovely straight to the point and extremely knowledgeable The skip the line really refers to the entrance of the Vatican museum Once youre in youre among the rest of the crowd FYI Even with that Maria was easy to follow and understand She gave a perfect amount of information for each area allowed time for questions and breaks if needed and really knew her stuff This tour made all the Vatican has to see much more easily digestible in one go

Archeology brought to life

Fabrizio was an excellent guide He really brought to life the evolution of what we were seeing and provided very interesting context from the perspective of an archeologist He was friendly patiently answered our questions and moved at a perfect pace On many other tours we have felt rushed but this one did not feel rushed even though we saw so much I highly recommend this tour
