In groups of 20 people or less, our insider guides will lead you straight to the most important areas of the Vatican Museums. This classic itinerary of the must-see sights includes stops in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps.

This tour culminates inside the museums at the Sistine Chapel. Rules are rules, and your guide will be unable to speak while you are inside. However, your insider guide will prepare you for your visit to this word wonder beforehand.

Starting Point

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.

Itineraries vary from day to day and at the discretion of your guide who will adapt your route.

This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps.

Additional information
  • Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
  • Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
  • Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.
  • *THIS VOUCHER IS NOT A TICKET* You must redeem this voucher at the meeting time and location designed on this voucher, with one of our designed Ticket Coordinators.
  • It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
  • Large bags and backpacks must be checked in.
  • To enter the Vatican Museums, shoulders and knees must be covered.
  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.
  • Guests with a certified disability of over 75% are entitled to free entrance to the Vatican and do not require a ticket. For guests who are not self-sufficient, free entry is extended to a companion.  

Tour goes forward rain or shine! Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date. Multiple changes are permitted. To request a cancellation or change of time/date, send an e-mail to info@ecoarttravel.com.

My kind of tour

Our guide Assunta was exceptional She had a lot of interesting information about the major artistic pieces She also very clearly knew how to navigate the Vatican crowds and passages She guided us with ease through throngs of people to get a front row view at every point of interest Assunta was also able to guide members of the tour toward resting spots with grace The tour was the perfect length and amount of information I feel we got a comprehensive Vatican experience

Vatican tour with teens

What Monica our tour guide from Eco tours about the Vatican etc wouldnt fit on a postage stamp Her knowledge and experience was amazing The tour was early at 8am which was excellent as it only got busier There was a lot to take in Teen kids 1216 listened well Group size was 8 Would highly recommend this company

Fantastic tourmuseums were amazing and the Sistine Chapel was beautiful St Peters Basilica was truly breathtaking Martina was a great guideknowledgeable funny and very kind and helpful

Definite Highlight of Rome stay

Very informative and pleasant morning learning about and seeing the Colosseum Roman Forum and Palantine Hill Viola was so friendly and accommodating of our small groups questions and needs All the thumbs up

A must do

Skip the Line is the way to go Its very crowded at the site so the access saves time waiting Well worth the cost Maria Laura was an excellent tour guide She was extremely knowledgeable and shared the stories and history in an interesting way Her English was very good which was a big plus for us
