In groups of 20 people or less, our insider guides will lead you straight to the most important areas of the Vatican Museums. This classic itinerary of the must-see sights includes stops in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps.

This tour culminates inside the museums at the Sistine Chapel. Rules are rules, and your guide will be unable to speak while you are inside. However, your insider guide will prepare you for your visit to this word wonder beforehand.

After free time in the Sistine Chapel - you'll be able choose to end your visit at the Vatican Museums entrance or continue to explore on your own.

At the conclusion of your tour, you will enjoy skip-the-line access to St. Peter's Basilica, excluding Wednesdays and special events.

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.

Itineraries vary from day to day and at the discretion of your guide who will adapt your route.

This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps.

When available,Skip the Line Access to St. Peter's Basilica will be automatically provided at no extra cost. No guided tour will be provided. Please note that the Basilica is a separate venue to the Vatican Museums, is free to enter and does not require a ticket. It is not possible to always guarantee access to the Basilica, which may close with little or no notice.

What to bring with you

Comfortable shoes are recommended.
Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date. Great job

Rome was breath taking and the Vatican was icing on the cake It was unbelievable Our guide was superb as it was the busiest time of year yet we were able to get expert commentary and the time needed to fully appreciate the Vatican

The guide was knowledgeable and informative She provided great detail and readily answered questions There is a lot to see and limited animosity to cover it all based upon the number of competing tours I would readily recommend this one

Stefano is amazing

Stefano was a brilliant tour guide Wed been reluctant to book any guided tours in Rome as we thought the kids would get bored so the rest of our visits to places had all been self guided However we were advised that the best way to see the Vatican was with a guide and we are so glad we did Stefano was funny and engaging and the kids loved him

Our tour guide Guia from EcoArt made the difference

We booked the Upgraded Early Access Tour I am not sure what the Upgraded we paid for and how early is earlybut when we got there there were already a bunch of other early access tour there With that said the VIatour set us up with the local company EcoArt and we had a small group of 13 I think we really lucked out to have Guia to be our tour guide She was amazing She was more of an art teach explaining things we are about to see in laymans terms so we all can appreciate what we are seeing Guia spent 2 years hands on restoring the Sistine Chapel so she really does know what she was talking about What you get to see in the museum is probably controlled by the Vatican seems like every tour group is funneled like cattle through a shootEcoArt was great in sending out communications the day before and the meeting point instructions were spot on however please have your people show up before so we know we were in the right placeMen didnt really have to wear long pants to the vatican we did but lots and lots of people wore shorts Not great on a hot summer day but I understand its up the the guards discretion and we didnt want to chance it Overall it was a great experience
