In groups of 20 people or less, our insider guides will lead you straight to the most important areas of the Vatican Museums. This classic itinerary of the must-see sights includes stops in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps.

This tour culminates inside the museums at the Sistine Chapel. Rules are rules, and your guide will be unable to speak while you are inside. However, your insider guide will prepare you for your visit to this word wonder beforehand.

Starting Point

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.

Itineraries vary from day to day and at the discretion of your guide who will adapt your route.

This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps.

Additional information
  • Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
  • Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
  • Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.
  • *THIS VOUCHER IS NOT A TICKET* You must redeem this voucher at the meeting time and location designed on this voucher, with one of our designed Ticket Coordinators.
  • It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
  • Large bags and backpacks must be checked in.
  • To enter the Vatican Museums, shoulders and knees must be covered.
  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.
  • Guests with a certified disability of over 75% are entitled to free entrance to the Vatican and do not require a ticket. For guests who are not self-sufficient, free entry is extended to a companion.  

Tour goes forward rain or shine! Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date. Multiple changes are permitted. To request a cancellation or change of time/date, send an e-mail to info@ecoarttravel.com.

This tour was just the...

This tour was just the right length - covering the highlights of the Vatican. Our guide was informative and enthusiastic about the tour and was great at explaining the history and significance of the art we were viewing.

Amazing tour for couple!

The Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel was the most anticipated visit of our Rome holiday and we are super happy we booked with EcoArt Travel! Our amazing tour guide for the whole tour Martina was very informative, humorous and organized the group tour very well even with the absolute amass of other tour groups we encountered. For October expectations of crowds, it was very busy for a Wednesday morning! From start to end of the tour it was very well managed for the small group we were ( roughly 16 in the group) by Martina. The whole tour is by foot so would recommend good walking shoes, comfortable and covering clothes and a drink to last a few hours. Saint Peters Basilica is separate from the tour as it is free entrance for everyone, whether by a tour guide or not. Overall we really enjoyed our tour and would recommend EcoArt and Martina as your guide to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel!

Friendly and knowledgeable tour guide

Excellent tour guide, Paulina she was knowledgeable about the history of the Vatican and the art pieces on display. She highlighted some smaller pieces on display and explained their relevance which would easily be missed doing a tour on your own.

Not What We Planned - But Turned Out Great!

We signed up for this tour because the plain skip-the-line tickets were not available. So we booked this tour thinking that once in the museum we would leave the tour and just go off on our own. However, once we met our guide, Nicolette, and listened to her discussion of the Sistine Chapel (from the pictures posted outside in the courtyard) we decided to hang around. As it turns out, that was a wise decision. She was very knowledgeable and, as an archeologist, presented a really interesting perspective on many of the works of art. And she knew a lot about the art from an art-perspective as well. We really enjoyed the tour and are glad that we got to do it.
