In groups of 20 people or less, our insider guides will lead you straight to the most important areas of the Vatican Museums. This classic itinerary of the must-see sights includes stops in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps.

This tour culminates inside the museums at the Sistine Chapel. Rules are rules, and your guide will be unable to speak while you are inside. However, your insider guide will prepare you for your visit to this word wonder beforehand.

Worth It for the Experience but Be Ready for a Fast Pace

I highly recommend buying your ticket online in advance otherwise you may end up waiting in line for quite a while If you are considering a guided tour we had Martina who is very knowledgeable and genuinely funny I really appreciated that she didnt just focus on sharing information but also brought a sense of lightness to the whole experience She is very attentive to everyone and makes sure no one falls behind The Vatican Museums are huge There is so much to see that you could easily spend hours there If you prefer to explore at your own pace without feeling pressured to keep up with a group then a guided tour might not be the best option However I really enjoyed hearing the history and seeing everything come to life in front of me That said it is impossible to take everything in especially since guided tours run on a schedule and are timesensitive

Starting Point

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.

Itineraries vary from day to day and at the discretion of your guide who will adapt your route.

This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps.

Additional information
  • Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
  • Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
  • Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.
  • *THIS VOUCHER IS NOT A TICKET* You must redeem this voucher at the meeting time and location designed on this voucher, with one of our designed Ticket Coordinators.
  • It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
  • Large bags and backpacks must be checked in.
  • To enter the Vatican Museums, shoulders and knees must be covered.
  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.
  • Guests with a certified disability of over 75% are entitled to free entrance to the Vatican and do not require a ticket. For guests who are not self-sufficient, free entry is extended to a companion.  

Tour goes forward rain or shine! Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date. Multiple changes are permitted. To request a cancellation or change of time/date, send an e-mail to info@ecoarttravel.com.

Great atmosphere

Guide was very energetic and had great vibes Very friendly and knew her stuff Was amazing seeing the sights and having a skip the queue guide saved having to wait a long time definitely worth it

Martina was wonderful

Martina was our tour guide for the Vatican Museums Sistine Chapel and St Peters Basilica She was wonderful We were a group of 11 6 of whom were teens and Martina was friendly and patient with us She was very knowledgeable about the details of the Sistine Chapel and her presentation was very informative and engaging with the group I would highly recommend the EcoArt tour and Martina as your guide It was awesome

Wonderful experience

Excellent tour packed with lots of history and sights Were a family of four and love guided tours Our tour started at 12 noon across from the entrance to the Vatican Museum and was easy to find Our tour guide Fabio set expectations and was very good at communicating with us The tour started once we arrived inside the Museum on the upstairs courtyard Fabio spent about 20 minutes talking about La Capella Sistina and the history of the Vatican We proceeded through a couple of other courtyards before entering the main part of the Museum There is lots to see with many artifacts statues tapestries paintings and history We ended up in the Sistine Chapel and had about 15 minutes to take it all in No camerasphotos allowed Our tour lasted about 3 hours in total Its difficult in any tour like this to see everything I would not recommend a guided tour if you just want to go at your own pace You could literally spend most of the day looking at all of the exhibits However we enjoy the history of hearing local tour guides embrace their history Thank you EcoArt
