First access tour of Vatican Museums and Basilica

The guide was knowledgeable and his English was very good It seems every tour operator has a first access tour so the Vatican was very crowded I am glad I had an opportunity to see the Museums the artwork is priceless At the end of the tour you can go back and spend more time in the museums but you loose the shortcut access to the basilica which we did not want to loose since the lines to get into it were very long already The Sistine Chapel is amazing but very crowded You do only spend about 15 minutes there and photographs are not allowed If you have never seen the Vatican the tour is worth it just be prepared that it will be very crowded

Starting Point

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.


Ending Point

Vatican Museums or St. Peter's Basilica (depending on option selected)

Itineraries vary from day to day and at the discretion of your guide who will adapt your route.

This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Greek Cross Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries,Gallery of the Maps and the Raphael Rooms.

Choose an option that includes Skip the Line Access to St. Peter's Basilica to enjoy a direct route from the Vatican Museums. No guided tour will be provided. Please note that the Basilica is a separate venue to the Vatican Museums.


Additional information
  • Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
  • Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
  • Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

Daily except Sunday

  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.
  • *THIS VOUCHER IS NOT A TICKET* You must redeem this voucher at the meeting time and location designed on this voucher, with one of our designed Ticket Coordinators.
  • It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
  • Large bags and backpacks must be checked in.
  • To enter the Vatican Museums, shoulders and knees must be covered.

    • Tour goes forward rain or shine! Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date.     Awesome your Made the experience so much better

    This tour was amazing The tour guide Giuseppe was very knowledgeable and funny and made it a wonderful experience Skip the line was so essential and we would never have gotten to see everything we saw without the guide Would highly recommend to anyone planning a trip Very worth the price

    Definitely worth it Our tour guide Marcello was terrific and very knowledgeable Just know that even though youre with a small group there are other tours going on at the same time and thus it is very very crowded

    Fast paced overview of a HUGE collection

    The tour of the vatican museums Sistine Chapel and overview of St Peters Basilica was a fastpaced whirl wind of facts focus and mindblowing art Though it was crowded we were whisked between rooms and around 5 km of artifacts and paintings efficiently and effectively

    Evry pleasant tour

    Visite très agréable explications intéressantes avec parfois damusantes anecdotes Rythme tout à fait adapté Permet de visiter le musée du Vatican la chapelle Sixtine et la basilique Saint Pierre sans faire la queue qui peut être très très longue
