VIP tour

Total VIP treatment here! Small group really means small group - it was just our family of four. We got to ask our really friendly, informative and professional tour guide any question, and could by-pass or move to areas of our own particular interest. A great tour, which opens your eyes to all things Vatican City! Paying for skipping the line really does save you hours in queueing, meaning you can save yourself at least half a day, which on precious holiday time is well worth the money!

Couldn't ask for a better experience.

Couldn't ask for a better experience. Our guide, Stefania, was extremely knowledgeable and personable. She was able to avoid the crowds and we still saw everything. The skip the line feature was absolutely worth the price.

Mom, Aunt & Grandma loved it

I live in Rome, but my family does not. Recently my mother, aunt and grandmother all came to visit me and I was tasked with the responsibility of organising their days. I knew they had to see the Vatican, but knowing how crazy it can get -- I was weary of sending them in alone and felt like they wouldn't really get anything out of the visit. Luckily found a solution in this tour -- I had heard great things from friends about the Vatican guides and decided it was my best chance of giving them a memorable experience, I even joined them on the tour. Our guide was Luciano - and we could not have been happier. My mom, grandma and aunt, none of which have any art history interest or education - were mesmerised throughout the tour. Luciano was able to cater to each of them, asses what they might be interested in and cater to the tour to them. The tour was a few weeks ago, but they are still talking about it as the single best thing they did while in Rome. Thank you Luciano!

No earphones, no pain - great tour

My husband and I generally avoid guided tours when we travel, mostly because I find the in-ear earphones used for most tours to be uncomfortable and even painful after a few hours. When deciding how to organise our trip to the Vatican - an ad for this tour came up and when I read no earphones I booked right away because I found the price to be very reasonable. We were met by Daniela at the start of the tour and she immediately had us feeling comfortable and excited for our visit. The tour is sold as a vatican insider tour and I found this to be true - as Daniela lives in the Vatican with her husband who is a swiss guard. She had all kinds of fascinating insight to share and we were enthralled for three hours (no easy task for my husband who gets distracted easily). We highly recommend this visit, not least of all of the excellent guide, small group and no earphones.

Behind the scenes at the Vatican

This was my family's first trip to Rome and the Vatican and the options to choose from were overwhelming. I had read that the afternoon is a better time to visit as the crowds mostly stick to the morning so I was looking for something specific departing after lunch. I am so glad I found this tour. We met Luciano at the appointed time close to the museum entrance. We felt like VIPS as we made our way in without delays, it was a matter of minutes before we were inside and exploring. I especially enjoyed the visit to the area where we could see all of the vintage cars used by the Popes and the carriages, it wasn't something I was expecting to see so it was a great surprise. Luciano expertly led us from room to room, avoiding the chaos and also seeming to find the perfect spot to stop and explain. We never felt rushed or like things were moving too slowly, and the group size of 7 people was perfect. We feel like we got more than excellent value for our money. 10 stars!
