In groups of 20 people or less, our insider guides will lead you straight to the most important areas of the Vatican Museums. This classic itinerary of the must-see sights includes stops in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps.

This tour culminates inside the museums at the Sistine Chapel. Rules are rules, and your guide will be unable to speak while you are inside. However, your insider guide will prepare you for your visit to this word wonder beforehand.

After free time in the Sistine Chapel - you'll be able choose to end your visit at the Vatican Museums entrance or continue to explore on your own.

At the conclusion of your tour, you will enjoy skip-the-line access to St. Peter's Basilica, excluding Wednesdays and special events.

This tour was definitely the highlight of our trip Our guide was lovely and so knowledgeable We were able to go into the Vatican Museums had a chance to go into each room and take photos while the guide explained some of the history We had access to the Sistine Chapel which would highly recommend doing After the tour we were given the opportunity to visit St Peters Basilica on our own dont know if this is provided every time but if offered I would 100 do it Our guide was kind enough to give us some information about St Peters and we were given access to it through the Sistine chapel which avoided the long lines outside Leave enough time to be able to find the meeting place so you dont miss the tour Would highly recommend this tour

Starting Point

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.

Vatican Museums or St. Peter's Basilica

Itineraries vary from day to day and at the discretion of your guide who will adapt your route.


This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps.


When available,Skip the Line Access to St. Peter's Basilica will be automatically provided at no extra cost. No guided tour will be provided. Please note that the Basilica is a separate venue to the Vatican Museums, is free to enter and does not require a ticket. It is not possible to always guarantee access to the Basilica, which may close with little or no notice.

Additional information
  • Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
  • Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
  • Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

Daily except Sunday

  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.
  • *THIS VOUCHER IS NOT A TICKET* You must redeem this voucher at the meeting time and location designed on this voucher, with one of our designed Ticket Coordinators.
  • It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
  • Large bags and backpacks must be checked in.
  • To enter the Vatican Museums, shoulders and knees must be covered.
  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.

Tour goes forward rain or shine! Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date. Fantastic

Eddie was fantastic - great mix of humor and facts! Emails regarding vouchers, tickets, meetup etc could have been more clear, but overall a great experience!

Great guide, great experience!

Polina! We didn't know what a treat we were getting when we booked this. We had hoped for a skip the line ticket, and were pleasantly surprised to discover that we had a guide for the museum, and she was exceptional! She is extremely knowledgeable, with a degree is art history. She told us things we wouldn't have noticed or understood the significance of, and kept us on a good pace. Not too fast, not too slow. We very much enjoyed the trip and if we could ever guarantee Polina as a guide, we do it again!

A very good experience

So, I arrived waaaay too early and was looking for an office that didn’t exist. Read the emails (i didnt) - you meet your guide in the area of the address specified and all goes swimmingly. I was a little weirded out by that but, once the time arrived, my guide was there and she’s was fantastic (Paulina). I learned a lot, she kept our group together, really- it was all you could expect. A very nice experience overall and a good choice. Thanks!

Tatiana was a great guide

Our guide Tatiana was so welcoming and happy. She was well informed about the Vatican buildings and artists. She made the tour interesting.
