In groups of 20 people or less, our insider guides will lead you straight to the most important areas of the Vatican Museums. This classic itinerary of the must-see sights includes stops in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps.

This tour culminates inside the museums at the Sistine Chapel. Rules are rules, and your guide will be unable to speak while you are inside. However, your insider guide will prepare you for your visit to this word wonder beforehand.

After free time in the Sistine Chapel - you'll be able choose to end your visit at the Vatican Museums entrance or continue to explore on your own.

At the conclusion of your tour, you will enjoy skip-the-line access to St. Peter's Basilica, excluding Wednesdays and special events.

Starting Point

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.

This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps.


When available,Skip the Line Access to St. Peter's Basilica will be automatically provided at no extra cost. No guided tour will be provided. Please note that the Basilica is a separate venue to the Vatican Museums, is free to enter and does not require a ticket. It is not possible to always guarantee access to the Basilica, which may close with little or no notice.

Additional information
  • Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
  • Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
  • Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.

  • It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
  • Large bags and backpacks must be checked in.

Tour goes forward rain or shine! Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date. Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel EcoArt Travel

This tour was great I was worried we would have trouble finding our group as there were so many people on the stairs used as a meeting place but thanks to some details emailed the night before we easily met our guide Fabio in the location provided by EcoArt Fabio was friendly knowledgeable and full of great stories and tidbits He kept our young kids engaged throughout the tour I would book with EcoArt again in a heartbeat as it was great value for money My only reason for giving this tour a 45 instead of a full 5 has nothing to do with the tour company or Fabio they were definitely 55 but with the Vatican Museum itself As one of the most popular sites in Rome and going in high season it was packed I am not sure if they limit entrance but I felt like they packed people in excessively Going off season may be better if you are able to

Our guide Daniela was fantastic her knowledge of the history and delivery of the information was memorizing If History at School was taught as well as Daniela delivered the information it would have been so much more interesting

A great option for those that want a little more insight into the history of the Vatican and all of its artwork Our tour guide Maria Laura was great at explaining everything and guiding our group through the busy crowds her in depth knowledge interactions with the group and little fun facts made the experience even more enjoyable
