In groups of 20 people or less, our insider guides will lead you straight to the most important areas of the Vatican Museums. This classic itinerary of the must-see sights includes stops in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps.

This tour culminates inside the museums at the Sistine Chapel. Rules are rules, and your guide will be unable to speak while you are inside. However, your insider guide will prepare you for your visit to this word wonder beforehand.

After free time in the Sistine Chapel - you'll be able choose to end your visit at the Vatican Museums entrance or continue to explore on your own.

At the conclusion of your tour, you will enjoy skip-the-line access to St. Peter's Basilica, excluding Wednesdays and special events.

Starting Point

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.

Vatican Museums or St. Peter's Basilica

Itineraries vary from day to day and at the discretion of your guide who will adapt your route.


This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps.


When available,Skip the Line Access to St. Peter's Basilica will be automatically provided at no extra cost. No guided tour will be provided. Please note that the Basilica is a separate venue to the Vatican Museums, is free to enter and does not require a ticket. It is not possible to always guarantee access to the Basilica, which may close with little or no notice.

Additional information
  • Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
  • Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
  • Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.

  • It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
  • Large bags and backpacks must be checked in.

Tour goes forward rain or shine! Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date. Fabulous Vatican tour experience with Martina of EcoArt

Our family had the distinct pleasure of touring the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel with the assistance of tour guide Martina of EcoArt Travel in a tour we scheduled through Viator This was our first guided tour in Rome amid many thousands of thronging tourists and Martina was absolutely wonderful for us in all respects She sent us a detailed email several days prior to the tour which helped us to be prepared and told us where to rendezvous with her She was personable and professional as she guided us and provided us with enlightening details and history of all we saw and she ably answered our many questions I would certainly seek out Martina to guide us again in a future tour

Good Tour

The Vatican museums are overwhelming Too much to see in too little time Tour guide Elisa was great exuberant friendly and well informed The only thing that isnt great are the hoards of people but this in unavoidable

Fantastic Tour

This was my first visit to Rome and chose the Vatican Tour with Skip the Line We booked the Tour for Sat 14th Oct and to be honest it was just crazy busy However our guide Alena was more than capable of guiding our entire group through the vast maze of the Vatican without losing a single member of our group herding Cats springs to mind Alena was very knowledgeable and her indepth explanation of events and recollection of dates was very impressive All in all the Vatican Tour was a fantastic experience however the density of the crowds was the only negative to be found Even in Alenas own experience she had never seen it so busy The Tour also lasted slightly longer than usual as the Vatican Security Guards were trying to divert groups through various rooms to reduce the pressure on the more popular congested areas ie Cistine Chapel The corridors were sometimes very warm too so I would recommend that you bring a bottle of water along with light clothing comfortable footwear I would highly recommend this tour especially with this Tour Guide
