In groups of 20 people or less, our insider guides will lead you straight to the most important areas of the Vatican Museums. This classic itinerary of the must-see sights includes stops in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps.

This tour culminates inside the museums at the Sistine Chapel. Rules are rules, and your guide will be unable to speak while you are inside. However, your insider guide will prepare you for your visit to this word wonder beforehand.

After free time in the Sistine Chapel - you'll be able choose to end your visit at the Vatican Museums entrance or continue to explore on your own.

At the conclusion of your tour, you will enjoy skip-the-line access to St. Peter's Basilica, excluding Wednesdays and special events.

Starting Point

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.

Vatican Museums or St. Peter's Basilica

Itineraries vary from day to day and at the discretion of your guide who will adapt your route.


This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps.


When available,Skip the Line Access to St. Peter's Basilica will be automatically provided at no extra cost. No guided tour will be provided. Please note that the Basilica is a separate venue to the Vatican Museums, is free to enter and does not require a ticket. It is not possible to always guarantee access to the Basilica, which may close with little or no notice.

Additional information
  • Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
  • Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
  • Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.

Tour goes forward rain or shine! Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date. Must see

Great tour guide, new alot, must see, no issue. You should take a tour rather than just doing it yourself

Fantastic Tour

Our guide was Silvia and she was fantastic. She was super friendly and clearly loves the history and art of this place. She made it fun and we had a great time. This company also made it super easy to find the meeting place. Silvia also gave us a great place to go have some really good lunch. Would definitely recommend doing this tour.

Late Day Tour of Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel.

There are so many tours listed but I elected to book with EcoArt Tours on its website (versus going thru TripAdvisor). It was an excellent tour. I went at 3:15 and discovered that it was far, far less crowded than tours earlier in the day. My tour guide was Ilaria (or Hillary). Her nickname was Yaya. She was amazing. Her knowledge and explanations of the art was excellent. I learned so much. She currently works as a art restorer so she really knows her stuff. Her accent was sometimes a little tricky but we had earpieces so it was at least loud enough to hear. I’m just not used to Italian accents so I needed to concentrate more than usual. The meeting point for the tour was easy to find and the transaction online was super easy. I’m so glad I did this tour which consisted of a tour of the Vatican Museum, ending up in the Sistine chapel. When I return someday with my family I will definitely do this tour again. If you’re on the fence, DO IT! You won’t be sorry.
