In groups of 20 people or less, our insider guides will lead you straight to the most important areas of the Vatican Museums. This classic itinerary of the must-see sights includes stops in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps.

This tour culminates inside the museums at the Sistine Chapel. Rules are rules, and your guide will be unable to speak while you are inside. However, your insider guide will prepare you for your visit to this word wonder beforehand.

After free time in the Sistine Chapel - you'll be able choose to end your visit at the Vatican Museums entrance or continue to explore on your own.

At the conclusion of your tour, you will enjoy skip-the-line access to St. Peter's Basilica, excluding Wednesdays and special events.

Starting Point

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.

Itineraries vary from day to day and at the discretion of your guide who will adapt your route.


This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps.


When available,Skip the Line Access to St. Peter's Basilica will be automatically provided at no extra cost. No guided tour will be provided. Please note that the Basilica is a separate venue to the Vatican Museums, is free to enter and does not require a ticket. It is not possible to always guarantee access to the Basilica, which may close with little or no notice.

Additional information
  • Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
  • Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
  • Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.

  • It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
  • Large bags and backpacks must be checked in.

Tour goes forward rain or shine! Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date. Fantastic tour!

Felix was a brilliant tour guide. His knowledge on all the history was superb. He also went out of his way to look for wandering people in our group and kept us all together. The tour was the right amount of time and gave us a brilliant insight into Vatican City. Many thanks! Liz & Darren

awesome tour!

We had a great time with our guide Jeanette! She really knows her stuff and made our whole experience pleasant with her great sense of humour and easy going attitude. Despite the crowds and chaos, we would definitely recommend Jeanette to our friends and family as she makes the whole experience informative and enjoyable! Paolo the co-ordinator also made things so easy. From booking to getting to our meeting spot we could not have asked for an easier experience. Thanks for a great Tour!

vatican tour with andre

Great commentary and very knowledgeable. Loved every minute. Andre was funny and knew his stuff. The tour gave me so much more information than I already had.

Great tour

We signed up for a 3 hour fast track tour of the Vatican Museum and St Peters Basilica with EcoArt and they delivered exactly that. Very good communication by email on where to meet our tour guide. Fast entry beating the line. And a very informative tour with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide. Our guide showed a real passion for his work and the tour was a pleasure. Be warned this is a busy place with lots of people and in 3 hours there is a limit to what you can see, particularly in the museum. But it was a great introduction and we stayed behind to walk around St Peters Basilica on our own. Also worth paying the extra 8 Euros to climb the 551 steps of the Dome. I recommend this tour and this tour guide operator.

Real fast track access

Good job, well organised by EcoArt staff and our guide, Priscilla was great. Led us through the crowded area smoothly without any hitch! Gave us good information along the way and answered all questions. We would recommend going in small group. We enjoyed our day and had an awesome experience. Would like to stay inside the Sistine Chapel longer but the place was just too crowded !
