This classic itinerary of the must-see sights includes stops in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps.

This tour culminates inside the museums at the Sistine Chapel. Rules are rules, and your guide will be unable to speak while you are inside. However, your insider guide will prepare you for your visit to this word wonder beforehand.

Starting Point

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.

Itineraries vary from day to day and at the discretion of your guide who will adapt your route.

This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps.

Additional information
  • Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
  • Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
  • Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.
  • *THIS VOUCHER IS NOT A TICKET* You must redeem this voucher at the meeting time and location designed on this voucher, with one of our designed Ticket Coordinators.
  • It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
  • Large bags and backpacks must be checked in.
  • To enter the Vatican Museums, shoulders and knees must be covered.
  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.
  • Guests with a certified disability of over 75% are entitled to free entrance to the Vatican and do not require a ticket. For guests who are not self-sufficient, free entry is extended to a companion.  

Tour goes forward rain or shine! Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date. Multiple changes are permitted. To request a cancellation or change of time/date, send an e-mail to info@ecoarttravel.com.

Our tour guide Guia from EcoArt made the difference

We booked the Upgraded Early Access Tour I am not sure what the Upgraded we paid for and how early is earlybut when we got there there were already a bunch of other early access tour there With that said the VIatour set us up with the local company EcoArt and we had a small group of 13 I think we really lucked out to have Guia to be our tour guide She was amazing She was more of an art teach explaining things we are about to see in laymans terms so we all can appreciate what we are seeing Guia spent 2 years hands on restoring the Sistine Chapel so she really does know what she was talking about What you get to see in the museum is probably controlled by the Vatican seems like every tour group is funneled like cattle through a shootEcoArt was great in sending out communications the day before and the meeting point instructions were spot on however please have your people show up before so we know we were in the right placeMen didnt really have to wear long pants to the vatican we did but lots and lots of people wore shorts Not great on a hot summer day but I understand its up the the guards discretion and we didnt want to chance it Overall it was a great experience

Great tour of a very overcrowded museum

Elena was an exceptional guide Knowledgeable friendly and engaging The Vaticam Museum allows far too many visitors at once eating the experience is overwhelming and cannot be enjoy as it should This is no reflection on this tour however just to raise awareness that the museums are beyond busy and you will be rushed through Thank you Elena for a great and informative tour despite the huge crowds

Stefano was wonderful Explained everything was engaging and kept the group together I am so happy he was our tour guide I would highly recommend this vendor and Stefano The tour was worth the money they communicated beforehand and they are very organized

Polina the fabulous tour guide

We had a fantastic and thorough tour given by the equally wonderful knowledgeable and friendly Polina She highlighted and explained everything in great detail all while making it understandable and comprehensive The tour itself highlighted everything you would hope to see and Polina gave valuable information along the way Would highly recommend this tour Easy to find guides on steps outside Vatican headsets worked well and price was worth it Id suggest going early In warmer months and allow yourself time at the end to your the basilica and get great photos
