About the tour

Explore Rome's secret island, Ponza, on a day trip departing from central Rome. Avoid crowded, lacklustre beaches near Rome and enjoy crystal-clear waters 30 nautical miles away in Ponza.

The ferry to Ponza, costing 60 euros (not included, payable at check-in), departs from Anzio, offering a 1.5-hour ride. Upon arrival in Ponza, take a brief break for breakfast and board an excursion boat for an exhilirating 5-hour circumnavigation of Ponza. Discover hidden coves, gravity-defying rock formations, and blue grottoes while your expert tour leader translates the Italian commentary. Make 4-5 stops for swimming and snorkeling, and enjoy a pasta lunch freshly prepared by the captain and served on board, picnic style.

The boat excursion ends at 4:00 PM, providing an hour of free time in Ponza's lively port to enjoy an ice cream or a spritz, or to shop. Board the return ferry to Anzio, reaching central Rome just before 9:00 PM. This organized tour handles logistics, ensuring a worry-free experience.

Opt for the "with snorkel" option to receive your own set of gear, or choose a private experience with hotel pick-up, a guide, skipper, and a private boat. For the private excursion, lunch is not included but can be purchased in the port and brought on board or you can schedule a lunch stop at a restaurant. Ferry tickets for the private experience cost an additional 60 euros (paid at check-in).

Wonderful experience except for the ferry

The guide Ponza and the boat ride around the island were all 5 stars But the 2 hour ferry ride on rough seas was horrible

Itinerary

Starting Point

We meet front of Caffè Cestia in Piazza di Porta San Paolo 1. Please note that above the bar the sign says “BAR PIRAMIDE” and not Caffè Cestia. The caffè is located to the left of OTTICA PIRAMIDE. Look for our representative wearing the color bright green and carrying a flag with the EcoArt logo.The cafè is open in the early mornings. The closest metro stop is the Line B - Piramide station.

Breathtaking views you cant miss

Ricardo was an amazing tour guide The captain got us into unbelievable spots and we were allowed to snorkel in multiple spots They fed us wine and pasta during lunch and then let us go shopping when we came back to the Ponza I cant wait to take my family on this trip next time I visit

Amazing

I went to the boat excursion with my boyfriend and we absolutely loved it The view was amazing and I really appreciated the fact that we got to see every beach of Ponza without spending an enormous amount of money or time In Ponza most of the coast is inaccessible from land and the only way to get to the most beautiful places for a swim is by boat The crew was very friendly and the tour guide told us many interesting stories about the island What really surprised me was the opportunity to go swim in a grotto where sunlight made water change into a stunning bright blue colour and also near a ship wreck I think those are oneinalifetime experiences I would 100 recommend this excursion to others and hope I get the chance to come back someday

Spettacolare

Sono stata qualche giorno fa ed è stata unesperienza bellissima non solo si ha lopportunità di fare il bagno nei posti più belli dellisola ma abbiamo nuotato in una grotta e anche nei pressi di un relitto Il personale molto simpatico e la guida ha raccontato storie interessanti riguardo lisola sconsiglio solo di non sedersi vicino allaltoparlante sulla barca perché la voce può essere forte In poche ore abbiamo visto praticamente tutte le cale di Ponza e anche di più cosa che senza questo tour impiegherebbe molti giorni ma allo stesso tempo abbiamo sempre avuto il tempo di fare il bagno con calma Per queste ragioni credo che lesperienza meriti 5 stelle e spero di poterla rivivere un giorno
