About the tour

Explore Rome's secret island, Ponza, on a day trip departing from central Rome. Avoid crowded, lacklustre beaches near Rome and enjoy crystal-clear waters 30 nautical miles away in Ponza.

The ferry to Ponza, costing 50 euros (not included, payable at check-in), departs from Anzio, offering a 1.5-hour ride. Upon arrival in Ponza, take a brief break for breakfast and board an excursion boat for an exhilirating 5-hour circumnavigation of Ponza. Discover hidden coves, gravity-defying rock formations, and blue grottoes while your expert tour leader translates the Italian commentary. Make 4-5 stops for swimming and snorkeling, and enjoy a pasta lunch freshly prepared by the captain and served on board, picnic style.

The boat excursion ends at 4:00 PM, providing an hour of free time in Ponza's lively port to enjoy an ice cream or a spritz, or to shop. Board the return ferry to Anzio, reaching central Rome just before 9:00 PM. This organized tour handles logistics, ensuring a worry-free experience.

Opt for the "with snorkel" option to receive your own set of gear, or choose a private experience with hotel pick-up, a guide, skipper, and a private boat. For the private excursion, lunch is not included but can be purchased in the port and brought on board or you can schedule a lunch stop at a restaurant. Ferry tickets for the private experience cost an additional 50 euros (paid at check-in).

Itinerary

Starting Point

We meet at Cafè du Parc, located at Piazza di Porta S. Paolo, Rome. The cafè is open in the early mornings. The closest metro stop is the Line B - Piramide station.

Please consult a map before departing for the meeting point.

Ending Point

Beautiful Island, Tour, and Experience!

After traveling Europe for close to 3 weeks, I decided it was time to get away from the crowds and tourist attractions and try something a bit more relaxing. Ponza was the perfect choice to end the trip on a good note! The island is beautiful with extremely clean and blue water, amazing landscapes of cliffs, and some of the most spectacular views I've seen. Booking this tour with Kimberly really saved me a lot of time and hassle. She was very informative about the island and provided great customer service. You could tell she truly cared about my experience there and went above and beyond to make sure the experience was a good one. I would recommend this to anyone!

Incredible day in Ponza

Took this tour last summer. Ponza is an incredible place, doubt there are many like it in the world: isolated, beautiful - definitely off the beaten track. This was our third trip to Rome and we had (thought) we'd seen it all but when we found this day tip we realized we were in for something special. One of the most amazing days I have ever spent in Italy. I'd go back and do the tour again.
