In groups of 20 people or less, our insider guides will lead you straight to the most important areas of the Vatican Museums. This classic itinerary of the must-see sights includes stops in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps.

This tour culminates inside the museums at the Sistine Chapel. Rules are rules, and your guide will be unable to speak while you are inside. However, your insider guide will prepare you for your visit to this word wonder beforehand.

After free time in the Sistine Chapel - you'll be able choose to end your visit at the Vatican Museums entrance or continue to explore on your own.

At the conclusion of your tour, you will enjoy skip-the-line access to St. Peter's Basilica, excluding Wednesdays and special events.

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.

Itineraries vary from day to day and at the discretion of your guide who will adapt your route.

This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps.

When available,Skip the Line Access to St. Peter's Basilica will be automatically provided at no extra cost. No guided tour will be provided. Please note that the Basilica is a separate venue to the Vatican Museums, is free to enter and does not require a ticket. It is not possible to always guarantee access to the Basilica, which may close with little or no notice.

What to bring with you

Comfortable shoes are recommended.
Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

Tour goes forward rain or shine! Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date. Don't Miss the Tour of a Lifetime while doing your Trip of a Lifetime

Over 30 years of travel and the Vatican Museums are a Pinnacle of our Experiences (the other are Paris, Washington DC & Hawaii). The Vatican Museums have so much stuff that you MUST go in a small group with a great Guide or you won't understand,. Our Guide was able to "size-us-up" and was so knowledgeable (why the Sistine Chapel is 1M smaller in diameter than the Pantheon, why Emperor statues have their index finger pointed at you except the "everyday guy" Emperor - one of the Greatest, the Genius of Michelangelo (in Architecture & Painting as well as sculpture) and his politics - like the guy with the Donkey Ears, Bernini & Raphael contributions). Don't MISS THIS ONE in your Trip-of-a-Lifetime. You may never get here again.

Vatican and Sistine Chapel - skip the line

I do not use tours during travel, this tour changed my mind!! The crowds at the Vatican and Sistine Chapel are unbelievable, even in late September. Our tour guide was fantastic and gave us wonderful information, warm and courteous. I cannot imagine the hours we would have been on security and ticket lines, lost trying to find our way and just seeing the superfical info the museum provides at each sight. You cannot avoid the crowds in these venues, but EcoArt made them tremendously enjoyable for us. Highly recommended

Fantastic tour, no waiting in lines, awesome price

Our tour was fantastic from beginning to end. We met up with Paulo - even though the area around the Vatican Museum is packed with tourists, he was exactly where he said he'd be and we really appreciated the ease of getting connected. Our guide, Riccardo, took us through the museum - he was super nice, very knowledgeable, and pointed out all kinds of treasures we were excited to see (like a Van Gogh painting in an empty room other tours seemed to skip right over). My husband and I were on our honeymoon. Our only complaint - we wish we were there longer! We loved the whole tour. Thank you, EcoArt!

Tour of Vatican City and St Peters Chapel.

Felix (our guide) was brilliant and we could not ask for any more. We met him and Paulo at the steps outside and the moment he introduced himself we knew it would be a good tour. His knowledge around the tour was excellent and he had time to answer all of our questions. It was a fascinating 3hrs and we we could not ask for much more. He made the tour interesting and their was so much to learn. Thank you for the experience and the day - we could not have asked for much more.
