In groups of 20 people or less, our insider guides will lead you straight to the most important areas of the Vatican Museums. This classic itinerary of the must-see sights includes stops in the Pinecone Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, the Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps.

This tour culminates inside the museums at the Sistine Chapel. Rules are rules, and your guide will be unable to speak while you are inside. However, your insider guide will prepare you for your visit to this word wonder beforehand.

After free time in the Sistine Chapel - you'll be able choose to end your visit at the Vatican Museums entrance or continue to explore on your own.

At the conclusion of your tour, you will enjoy skip-the-line access to St. Peter's Basilica, excluding Wednesdays and special events.

Starting Point

Plan on arriving to our meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance of your selected departure time. Meet our representative on the steps in front of Via Tunisi, 4. The steps are located at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero. Your Ticket Host will be holding a flag with the green EcoArt logo.

Vatican Museums or St. Peter's Basilica

Itineraries vary from day to day and at the discretion of your guide who will adapt your route.


This itinerary covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Other stops include but are not limited to: Pinecone Courtyard, Belvedere Courtyard, Room of the Muses, the Round Room, Candelabra Gallery, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps.


When available,Skip the Line Access to St. Peter's Basilica will be automatically provided at no extra cost. No guided tour will be provided. Please note that the Basilica is a separate venue to the Vatican Museums, is free to enter and does not require a ticket. It is not possible to always guarantee access to the Basilica, which may close with little or no notice.

Additional information
  • Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Leave big backpacks at your hotel! Only small purses are permitted inside the Museums.
  • Something to cover your knees and shoulders.
  • Photos are permitted is almost all rooms of the Vatican Museums, except for the Sistine Chapel. No bulky or clearly professional photographic or video equipment (especially tripods or large videocameras, equipment backpacks) will be permitted inside the Museums.

  • We are unfortunately unable to accomodate guests with wheelchairs.
  • Guests must be able to climb and descend stairs on their own.

  • It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
  • Large bags and backpacks must be checked in.

Tour goes forward rain or shine! Your Vatican Tour may be cancelled for a full refund or may be switched to a different date/time as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before your original departure time and date. Skip the Line - Vatician Guided Tour

Can't recommend this tour enough! From start to finish, we could not fault a thing. The day before our tour we received an email from Paolo to let us know where to find him the following day and to remind us of the rules/guidelines we had to follow to ensure we were allowed into the Vatican. The following day Paolo was where he said he would be at the exact time stated on his email. He then passed us over to our guide, Felix, who was just as kind and friendly as Paolo. For the crowds at the Vatican that day we skipped the line and got through the security checks in no time. The tour itself was great - Felix took time to explain all of the key pieces throughout the whole tour and always made sure we fully understood. He also asked frequently if anyone had any questions for him and had no objections to you asking anything out with that time. I think it's safe to say, we wouldn't have enjoyed our visit to the Vatican as much if it hadn't been for the insight Felix passed on as there would have been so many details we would've missed. If I ever return to Rome, I will not hesitate to use EcoArt Travel to book other tours.

Fantastic experience!

Fantastic experience. We were slightly late to the meeting point after getting on the wrong metro train in the morning, but upon arrival at the meeting point, we were greeted by a very friendly chap, who was full of useful information. He guided us right up to the ticket exchange point inside the Vatican Museums, got our tickets, gave us a few tips of things to see and look out for during the tour and then we were on our way. The Vatican Museum is a vast "museum" containing lots of little museums with lots to see. so allow plenty of time for this! All in all, a fantastic experience!
