Awe inspiring but crowded

We had a wonderful guide for the tour He had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable Recommend but encourage others to go off season Vatican was very crowded If you dont care about seeing the awesome paintings of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel St Peters Basilica is an awe inspiring Cathedral and can spend as much or as little time there as you want So much to see and do in Rome Plan on 3 hours if you decide to go to The Vatican

A well guided tour

A knowledgeable and experienced guide At first I thought that he had spent too much time talking about the ceiling in the Sistine chapel but when we got there I understood why One thing to watch is that the crypts in the basilica close at 1800hrs so if like us your tour finishes at or after you will not be able to gain access which was disappointing

St Peters and Sistine chapel tour

Sistine Chapel was extraordinary Very hard to take it all in Do yourself a favor and read up on the things youre going to see before you go The tour guide was great at providing info but there is just too much to see to get it all in real time The climb to the top of the basilica is definitely worth it but is a separate ticket which can easily be purchased at the end of the main tour You can also tour Saint Peters square on your own before meeting the tour guide if youre early
