About the tour

Explore Rome's secret island, Ponza, on a day trip departing from central Rome. Avoid crowded, lacklustre beaches near Rome and enjoy crystal-clear waters 30 nautical miles away in Ponza.

The ferry to Ponza, costing 60 euros (not included, payable at check-in), departs from Anzio, offering a 1.5-hour ride. Upon arrival in Ponza, take a brief break for breakfast and board an excursion boat for an exhilirating 5-hour circumnavigation of Ponza. Discover hidden coves, gravity-defying rock formations, and blue grottoes while your expert tour leader translates the Italian commentary. Make 4-5 stops for swimming and snorkeling, and enjoy a pasta lunch freshly prepared by the captain and served on board, picnic style.

The boat excursion ends at 4:00 PM, providing an hour of free time in Ponza's lively port to enjoy an ice cream or a spritz, or to shop. Board the return ferry to Anzio, reaching central Rome just before 9:00 PM. This organized tour handles logistics, ensuring a worry-free experience.

Opt for the "with snorkel" option to receive your own mask and snorkel rental for the day.

Great experience visiting Ponza

We had a great experience on our tour around Ponza Island Mara was an amazing tour guide and very informative of the history of sites of Ponza I would highly recommend this tour

Itinerary

Starting Point

We meet front of Caffè Cestia in Piazza di Porta San Paolo 1. Please note that above the bar the sign says “BAR PIRAMIDE” and not Caffè Cestia. The caffè is located to the left of OTTICA PIRAMIDE. Look for our representative wearing the color bright green and carrying a flag with the EcoArt logo.The cafè is open in the early mornings. The closest metro stop is the Line B - Piramide station.

A Must See

So amazing! I thought the EcoArt office would be hard to find but the taxi driver found it easily. After that Kimberly took care of us really well! It's super non-touristy and very beautiful! The captain main an amazing pasta dish that Kimberly even said she would get me the recipe for! I would do this tour again whenever I visit Italy again.

Day trip from Rome to island of Ponza

We joined EcoArt Travel for a day trip from Rome to the island of Ponza this summer. It was one of the major highlights of our trip. It was a very well run, relaxed tour and a welcome break from the heat of Rome. The island of Ponza itself is magnificent, and we had a fabulous time touring the island by boat, taking swims, and enjoying lunch the crew cooked onboard. Definitely well worth it!

Ponza Island Day Trip

LOVED this trip!! Yes, it's an early morning wake up call but so worth it. Our guide, Kimberly, was awesome! Her planning, organization, and knowledge made the trip perfect. Ponza is beyond beautiful and not touristy at all. If I am ever in Rome again I will definitely take this trip again.

Ponza Island

Took an all day excursion to Ponza from Rome. Kimberly our tour guide was awesome. The trip is a long day but well worth it. Kimberly was very personable and provided great info all day giving us great insights to the culture the location and the history. The day was spent circumnavigating the island and stopping at several swimming locations. The highlight involved setting through grottos filled with crystal clear blue waters. There's time at the end to unwind with a cocktail and take in the sights. A most beautiful place and well worth the day.

Ponza Tour was the highligt of our trip

We loved this tour! A day spent boating around a spectacularly beautiful island, with blue skies and even bluer waters. It was such a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Kim was fantastic, so knowledgeable, passionate about her beautiful place, helpful and brought humour to the trip. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone who has a love for adventure and the water. Was fab to just jump of the boat and swim onto many undisturbed beaches. A complete treat.
